Question type: Maintenance & Repair

What product (carb cleaner) should/could be used to detect vac
hose leaks by releasing smoke thru system for detection

None. Carb/Choke cleaners will not emit smoke thru a system. All they will do is seal a vacuum leak (sucking air in where it shouldn't) momentarily for as long as the spray is hitting the leak. To properly smoke yest a system, you need a source of smoke and something to force the smoke thru the system and out thru the leak on a pressurized system. I have never found a place that rents these out, so I googled it and built my own.
