It could be a series of things that can make knocking noise but it's hard to diagnose not being able to listen to the noise. I would check oil level first, check oil pressure with manual gauge to make sure it's not the engine. Low oil pressure will do that and the light not coming on since the light does not detect low pressure, only no pressure at all. Could be a loose wheel. Depending how fast the knocking is, it could be a loose bumber plastic cover flapping while driving.
