After my battery died the engine won't turn over

Asked by Tani Aug 22, 2022 at 04:32 PM about the 2013 Hyundai Accent GL Sedan FWD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I heard that with newer cars this can happen and that it's because a computer
needs to reset factory settings. The engine is good but the car was in an
accident that it drove away from.

I don't get it. Are you trying to start the engine with a dead battery? If you're talking about after battery replacement, this might occur if you didn't use a memory saver when the battery was disconnected or had insufficient juice to run the computer memory..... Does this present a need to get the computer reflashed? I don't think so. You likely just blew a fuse when you hooked up the new battery.
