Why won't the horn beep on my Hyundai Accent after locking doors with the remote like it used to do?

My Hyundai Accent  2013 always beeps after I lock the doors with the remote
but now it doesn't make any noise. I can still lock and unlock using the
remote. Another anomaly takes place when I accelerate. I hear the doors
locking itself several times. Any suggestions?

UPDATE: I changed to the spare remote and guess what? Now the horn is honking again when I use the remote to lock which makes me think that there's a problem with the first remote. Could it be batteries? Could it be programming?
