Oil burst

Hi could anyone give me any info I've just been driving my
Passat 19 TDI  highline when  all of a sudden itstarted
making a loud noise from the engine like something was
loose inside the engine so pulled over on the side of the
road car was still started when I got out there was a big
massive puddle of oil check the dipstick and it had lost all
the oil when I looked on the bottom of the engine cover it
looks like it has bits of metal fragments on it any ideas
anybody

For all we know, you hit something and it took out your oil pan. Or lost a rod and it shot through the pan, block... who knows? The only thing you can do is tow it and have it looked at by a mechanic, the engine will have to be evaluated to determine if it is even repairable. You're looking at either rebuilding the engine or replacing it.

yep sounds like it threw a rod to me to thats one engine that will never recover.
