How do you unstuck a frozen accelerator pedal?

Several times the accel. pedal seemed stuck, especially in the cool of the morning. Usually, giveng the pedal a gentle push resolves this issue. However, coming back from a long trip. I started the car; it starts properly; then idling, it revs 1K and 2K. I turn it off. It will do the same again. I did notice that the pedal is somewhat immovable. Should I just give it a good stomp or should I lube a joint or somewhere at the cable actuator? Thank you, Joe. 760.672.4234.

make sure it isnt in the throttle body first

Hi Adam, I had just spray cleaned the heck out of the throttle body valve or butterfly, along with the linkage. Removed the air sensor atop the t/b opening; sprayed valve and opening with throttle body cleaner as I worked the valve to open; wiped with clean cloth to opening of t/b, and as far as my fingers could reach behind the valve. Started the car again and after sufficient warming; something 'clicks on' in the engine bay, and it begins to surge up and down between 1K to 2K rpms again. Placed an Actron CP9125 pocket scan on it and it read P0505 (pending, probably due to the battery cable being loose yesteday in which retightening it and the car started); 2 codes, EVAP, EGR. All other onboard monitors were complete. Engine check light is still on. A new EGR is approx $127 plus shipping and time (which I don't have). Could I clean the old one and would I need to replace the cleaned EGR on a new gasket? The part is Honda: 18011-P8A-A00. Thank you for your input.
