Cleaning Egr ports, removing manifold is it necessary to torque down the bolt when putting it back on?
Im going to clean my Egr ports for my 2000 honda
accord Ex v6. I wass wondering is it necessary to
to unscrew the manifold bolts in a specific order or
can i just take them out without woring about
messing somthing up if i dont do it in a specific
order. And when putting back the manifold do I
have to do it in the specific order as well and
torque it down or can I just put the screws back
and tighten the screws without torquing down the
bolts?? Also would it mess someting up if i dont
torque them down or would it be okay? I would
highly appreciate any advice. Thank you very

From a repair guide: 1) Use new O-rings and gaskets when reassembling. 2) Check for folds or scratches on the surfaces of the gaskets. 3) Replace with a new gasket if damaged. No mention of a specific order to tighten bolts, just be sure to use a torque wrench. As with any gasketed surface, make sure it's completely clean and snug up all bolts so gasket is not deformed by uneven pressure, then put the torque wrench on it. Do not use any type of grease or liquid on the bolts, it will throw off the torque wrench. Also make certain you have wrench set to right units, the last thing you want to do is snap off a bolt. see attached pic for torque specs.
