Humming coming from rear of car for minutes while the car has been off for hours

02 honda accord 4L. Humming for
minutes from rear of the car. Even after
the car has been off for hours. Terrible gas
milage my car has been going through
double the gas. And the matanice light is
on but not the check engine light.

Just realized i spelled mileage and maintenance wrong i just put my son on the bus its early and i dont know how to edit it. I hope its still understandable.
