2006 dodge 5.7 Hemi dies and then restarts while driving

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I have a 2006 dodge charger r/t with the 5.7 L
hemi. Over the past few weeks, I have been driving
it and it randomly shuts down for a split-second
and then restarts and then keeps going. This has
happened maybe a dozen times. It doesn't seem to
be during acceleration, but I haven't pinned it down
when it seems to happen, both highway and city
driving. There is a single warning ding when it
happens, and it is so quick I can't even catch the
tachometer dropping off or a light flash, but
certainly feel it. I haven't seen an OBD error code
set or pending. I have had the fuel tank replaced
under the recall (had that problem of dying after a
refuel). It has about 60k and is generally my
weekend get-away car and spends most of the
time in the garage. But my everyday car is down,
so it's getting me to work right now. Any one have
an idea or similar experience?

So, it happened to me about 5 times this morning on my 20 mile commute to work, and I was able to see a dash light flash for a split-second when it happened. I'm guessing it was the throttle body control light, just based on the light's position. It happens so fast, I can't focus on what the symbol is. I had this part fail on me once already (during the warranty). I wish it would throw a OBD code to help identify the actual failing part. But it appears to be happening more often and taking milliseconds longer to reset (enough time for the light to flash).

I would check the speed sensor, i had a 1500 chevrolet silverado that would do this over and over at random points of a drive, inner city driving and highway just whenever it felt the need to do it, i would pull off the side of the road wait a second and crank it back up again. But the part for the truck only ended up costing me about 10.00 back then.
