2004 Honda Good Buy?

Asked by Guru63NGS Apr 08, 2020 at 04:28 PM about the 2004 Honda Civic EX

Question type: Shopping & Pricing

I am looking at a 2004 honda civic ex with 85k miles on sale for $4300 at a
local dealership. On one hand, I am looking at it and thinking that it has a low
mile and within my budget so I will be able to drive it for a while. But on the
other side, this is a 16-year-old vehicle and I am not sure if I should trust it. I
know Honda's are known to be reliable, but being so old, is this car worth
buying?

Sounds like a good buy. Get a Carfax or other vehicle history report. Look for regular maintenance visits, no accidents, and long term ownership. If you don't see regular maintenance and several people have owned it, be wary. You can also have the vehicle inspected by a professional inspection company. I've used lemonsquad.com with excellent results. The inspection costs about $150 and is worth it. I used them when I bought my 94 Fleetwood, sight unseen, and I've been very happy with the car. It's been everything they said it was! Hope that helps! Jim
