2001ford ranger 4 liter v6

Asked by GuruYL1HG Mar 09, 2018 at 09:08 AM about the 2001 Ford Ranger XLT 4 Door SuperCab Flareside 4WD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Truck was running just fine when parked. It has
been parked for several months without being
started. Charged battery and will not start. Will do
nothing when you turn the switch over. Just makes
a fast clicking noise at the dash once you turn the
key off. Any ideas would be appreciated.

Maybe the existing battery, even after the charge, does not have enough power to crank the engine. Try using a fresh battery. After being parked idled for several months, corrosion can get into the electrical system and other parts of a vehicle, make in it difficult to start.
