72vw bug automatic won't move in any gear

Ahh yes the old buttermilk transmission. If you can push the car with the brakes off and the shifter in neutral then it's not the brakes. If you can't push it even then then something has the vehicle stuck where it is. You may need to jack it up and spin each wheel separately to find the one that's stuck. Now if you can push the car then you do have a transmission problem. As these were a special transmission not just anyone can fix it, you will have to call around to find someone shop that has the know how. I wish you good luck.

Not to be confused with the original " Mashed Potato " drive , that tranny is probably DOA sounds like job for crate tranny , don't go cheap , I'll bet you'll get your $$ back some day
