Air confitioning unit fsilure

Car fsn belt broke and car died every light csme on
and steering was stiff electrics went off. Tsken to
gsrsge they say air confitioning unit has
completely ceased causing the fan belt to snap.
How does this happen car is only four years old

So from what you are describing, the AC compressor clutch locked up. Parts do fail. Nothing you could have done different.
