Has anyone ever had issues with the heating/cooling fan in 2016 Ram pickup?

Asked by Guru9DM564 Nov 17, 2020 at 09:46 PM about the 2016 RAM 2500 Power Wagon Crew Cab 4WD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I have a 2016 Ram Power Wagon with the
Uconnect navigation touch screen display. My
heater will not blow air. I have power at the fuses
and  relay. I have tried swapping the blower motor
and resistor. When I turn the blower control knob
the display shows th fan speed going up and down.
I have tested the power at the resistor and blower
motor for power with a test light and get nothing. It
will randomly turn on and work fine for a few days
but will then just stop working. Help please it is
currently 29 degrees outside.

Best bet would be to replace the fan speed control panel. It should come off as one section for the knobs but can sometimes be a pain to get to to remove it and you basically have to take out the entire head unit to do it. The panel should detach from the bottom of the head unit. That knob definitely has some faulty internals from the sounds of it. You can replace it new or try calling a few part yards and see if you can get it cheaper that way. Alot of those places will ship it to you if you're not too far away. Make sure to note if your ac controls are manual or automatic. That is a very important difference.
