Condensation from a hose

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I bought a new RAV 4 last week. I opened the hood today and found lots of
condensation around a hose and water dripping from it. I have attached a photo with
the hose marked out and there are a few drops of water under it. Is this normal? if not
would the drops of water around the engine cause problems, please let me know.

Thanks.

I can't tell if that is the A/C hose going to firewall. Looks like it is. So normal, no worries. If you were running A/C the condensation freezes on that line to evaporator.

I just went out to look at my Toyota and the hose has the same letters on the A/C hose as yours. It's set up, routed differently but if you follow that hose and it goes to firewall and/or other end to compressor...all is right in the world.

You're welcome. I study Corollas a lot, the original Rav4 was built an as Corolla crossover. Lots have changed since but there are some constants

Great question and the photo was spot on. Made the diagnoses much easier . Also don't worry, you'll still see the condensation dripping when the humidity is high.
