1990 325i HOOD WILL NOT OPEN; LATCH RELEASE MECHANISM APPEARS TO WORK

i READ RECENT RESPONSE TO HOOD NOT OPENING.  i HAVE REACHED THE HOOD OPENING CABLE OVER THE LEFT HEADLIGHTS AND WATCHED THE MECHANISM BEHIND THE FRONT OPEN FULLY WHEN THE CABLE IS PULLED IN THE CAR. THE HOOD REMAINS FULLY LOCKED.  RECENT RESPONSE SAID LAST DITCH WAS TO SAW THE LATCHING PINS.  HOW DO I DO THIS?  GILLOTINE WIRE? ARE THERE TWO PINS?  i THINK i CAN SEE THE DRIVER'S SIDE PIN; HAVEN'T SEARCHED FOR THE RIGHT SIDE YET.  HELP! PLEASE RESPOND HERE IN THE FORUM AND TO MY EMAIL AT donkit@frontiernet.net DON

Have someone pull the cable inside the car. Make fist and with a good pop hit hood right above pins. (Not so hard you damage the hood). Sometimes doing this will cause a stuck hood to spring loose.
