why is Service engine soon staying on

i have a 1999 gmc sonoma. service engine light came on right after leaving the
emissions place. we did new oil change, plugs , wires,filter , then it went off. i
drove it to the store and on the way back . dang service engine soon light came
back on. what next ?

well you were probably right! now it had a gas leak somewhere under the veh when i started it last night, i have to probably follow the gas lines to see where its leaking from.. maybe thats the service engine soon issue or maybe coincidence ?
