What is the V shaped socket on the dash of a Ford Transit 2015?

We rented a Ford Transit 2015 and we were wondering what is the V shaped
socket on the dahsboard. I cannot fit a phone, there is already a lot of better
places for change. What is it specifically for? No guesses please, answer if
you know the answer.

I could not find anything in the owners manual/http://www.fordservicecontent.com/Ford_Content/Catalog/owner_information/2015-Transit-Owners-Manual-version-2_om_EN-US_05_2014.pdf

It seems it a socket for apple products like IPhone and IPod.
