Can you transmission swap Chevy and gmc?

Will a 2000 Chevy s10 2.2L 4cyl transmission work
in a 2000 gmc Sonoma 2.2L 4cyl pickup?
Manufacturer sticker states it has an s10 motor in it

It should work as long as the engine numbers match. If they don’t then the electronics will be incompatible.

Check the tags on both transmissions. They must match exactly. Hope that helps! Jim
