my 03 sonoma v6 loses power when i turn the ignition?

Do you mean that the battery volts drop to zero? If so, you have a bad battery. Actually there is no continuity between a couple of cells. The liquid is enough to give you a voltage reading and it turns to dust when any load is on it. -- I had that happen with my Honda V65 Magna. Couldn't even push start it. Bought some beer, wrapped it in my leather jacket and waited for the wife to come rescue me.

check all battery, alt. and starter wiring coneections. try to get it started, jump start. and take to auto parts house to check electrical system for free:)
