2014 mini cooper s countryman passenger door adjar light on but door is shut

Washed my car yesterday and woke up ti it being
freezing today so this may ne why but when i got in
my car and started it, it says my front passenger
door is open butnit is shut. Opened and shut it
several times. No luck and interior lights are
staying on

It could be the door ajar switch, but it could also be frayed or loose wiring running through the door jamb. Look up a "door ajar switch" for your make and model to get an idea what and where it is, if it seems bad just replace it.

Thankyou. I will check into that. After it got warm enough today, the door ajar alarm didnt come back on. Thankfully my car is "smart" enough to turn the interior lights out after so long of being on. Was worried that it would drain my battery.
