Mini Cooper 2014 countryman

Asked by Mommaang2014 Aug 03, 2020 at 07:37 PM about the 2014 MINI Countryman S ALL4 AWD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I changed out the spark plugs,   oil filter housing
because it was leaking  coolant. And then the  left
right axel boot.
Now..engine light comes and power is zilch. Now
the the valve cover is leaking the valve cover leaked
on to  the throttlebody which caused damage to the
throttlebody that is 944.22 the fuel tank vent valve
is damaged also  394.76 finally the water pump is
leaking coolant and that is $1019.61.

Is it possible for the valve cover to start leaking that
much in just a little less than month? Is this
something they should have causing the first time
around?

You didn't say when the valve cover was replace the first time. The oil filter housing gasket is different. Also the throttle body probably didn't need changing due to oil, it could have been cleaned up. It sounds like you are bringing your car to a Mini dealer where they like to replace parts and steal your money. If maintaining a Mini isn't enough. Sheesh. You might want to think again about looking for something a little more reliable.
