2014 gmc sierra Engine Oil Solenoid valve stuck off

Asked by Guru9HQ5CJ Nov 15, 2021 at 02:16 PM about the 2014 GMC Sierra 1500 Base

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

my 2014 GMC Sierra has a check engine light on. The code comes up as
"Engine Oil Pressure Control Solenoid Valve Stuck off." I heard this is a
common problem and a potential potential error that the valve is not really stuck
off. Is this something to worry about or is it a major repair?

That depends on your definition of major repair, some people think anytime over 300 bucks is major. My starter was over 600 bucks. So yes it needs fixed but check with the dealer for service bulletin or recalls first.
