Asked by frmmtn2sea Mar 11, 2017 at 10:47 AM about the 2014 RAM 1500 Big Horn Quad Cab 4WD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

When turning key to start, only a click, Instruments flash. It is the knob type shifter, and cannot shift into neutral. I pushed all fuses in to check for anything loose. Battery is charged according to charger. If this cannot be answered, how to get vehicle to neutral so to at least tow?

https://www.edmunds.com/ram/1500/2014/long-term-road-test/2014-ram-1500-ecodiesel-overriding-the-transmission-for-emergency-towing.html This link applies to any Ram with the shift knob, it covers the "Manual Park Release Pull Strap."

Thank you. I also confirmed this is the manual, where I did not find it before. Now to find out why a 2014 ram, hemi, quadcab, 4x4, 1500 will not turn over and will just flash, click, and make computer like recycle noises.
