Shifting lever

Asked by Coachcollins Dec 21, 2015 at 11:49 AM about the 2014 Ford Focus S

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

The shifting lever stops at neutral as if something
is jamming or hanging. Will not move to the D or L
position.

You probably either have something under the hood obstructing the linkage at the transmission or the shifter has something under it blocking the mechanism. Soda and sugary liquids will also hang up a shifter assembly. Are you sure that you are pushing the button when trying to shift into drive?
