Shifting

My 01 crown will not shift out of park
unless i turn my key upwards n then shift
into neutral to get into reverse drive. What
is the problem?

Check the neutral safety switch.

its the switck on column l side twords bottom that assures your foot is on the brake to shift from park. nss controls nothing with shifting gears
