I have owned a 2003 purchase brand new 14 years ago. It has now 224100 miles. It is the most reliable vehicle I have driven for so long. It is my go to work car. I have maintenance done on it religiously. Only major problem so far the AC compressor which it was recently replaced. This is the fifth Ford Taurus I have owned. I can deny though, with as many miles I am concerned that anything could go bad now. The car so far runs perfect. It keeps my other two vehicles new and only driven for pleasure. I am so thankful to the outstanding reliability of my 2003 FORD Taurus SE that I felt compelled to share my experience.

You are both right...maintenance is everything, in all vehicles. My 2004 Taurus SEL Duratec is the best car I have ever owned. And it walks all over cars and trucks worth twenty times as much. The newer ones are even faster.
