First be sure you have 12 volts going to plug at coil with key in RUN. If you do have 12 volts at coil. If you do then I lean more to bad ignition module (TFI. or thick film ignition module). This is the module located on the side of distributor held by a couple screws. The only other common ignition item would be the pickup coil inside the distributor. To change requires pulling dist and taking apart. This next step you should do this after confirming 12v to coil lead. Pull the cap off the distributor to confirm does the distributor rotor button turn when you crank engine? I want to be sure Timing chain did not break. While there be sure cap & rotor look good.
