When my pickup is in 2wd and put it in gear, all you hear is a grinding and,the pick up wont move, but if i put it in 4wd high,and lock the hubs, it drives!, whats the problem?

Check to see if driveshaft rotates when you are in 2wd if it does, u have a stripped rear differential, if it doesn't rotate, u have a bad transmission. The reason it works in 4wd it's because ur front wheel drive is doing all the work and not the rear
