Overheating

Asked by Dcastro75 Apr 15, 2017 at 09:06 PM about the 2012 Jeep Liberty Latitude 4WD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I have a 2012 Jeep Liberty 3.7L that is overheating, what
might be some solutions? Changing water pump but do
not see any water leakage. Change thermostat? Fan relay
switch?

Even tho the water pump is not leaking, it still could be bad. The impeller could be eroded away. But I would start with the thermostat first, make sure an purge the cooling system when refilling the coolant back up, and yes the fans need to be in working order. Hopefully there is not something more seriously wrong like a blown head gasket.
