1985 928 Porsche Starts and Runs but....

Asked by subgroupprez Jun 07, 2013 at 10:44 AM about the 1985 Porsche 928 S Hatchback

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

My 1985 Porsche starts and runs great sitting at idle.  However, when I get in and drive it
dies as soon as I take my foot off the gas.  It has an air slide valve but no air idle control
valve that I can see.  I'm wondering what possible causes might be and am looking for the
top few items that fail commonly on this car.  I've only owned it a few months and love it
and it only has 50k miles on the clock....want to keep her running.

Check the fuel pressure regulator on top of the engine before the fuel rail(s).
