Engine light

Asked by Guru1CCJ9 Sep 05, 2019 at 09:08 AM about the 2012 RAM 1500 Laramie Limited Crew Cab 4WD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I read that taking one of the post off the
battery will prevent/turn off the engine light.
It does work briefly, I would say 2 months
then come on again.  Engine runs great.
Mechanic did a engine analysis check show
misfired cylinder.  Replaced cylinder/spark
plugs and wiring,. Still comes on but engine
light did go off after removing it for couple
months

When it comes back on I would hook up an obd scanner and see what the code is. It could be simple as your O2 sensor isn’t reading, or something worse. Just get it checked to be on the safe side.
