Quickest, easiest most affordable would be a performance module: http://www.gfchips.com/fordthunderbird.aspx?gclid=CMXPrrO_sb0CFeMF7AodVh0AFg

After a chip, basic bolt ons. More air in and more air out. Intake and exhaust. Exhaust system, headers (mid or long tube headers don't waste your time with shortys). Lol i shouldn't suggest this but there is always nitrous oxide systems, but without the proper safety mechanisms (fuel pressure safety switch, rpm window switches, etc.) It could cause more harm than good.

Scrap yard explorer upper and lower intake. Craigslist has tons of stang parts you can use.
