where is the solenoid in a 2013 Ford F-150 4x4 WLT

Asked by DaleNimmo Aug 09, 2021 at 02:07 PM about the 2013 Ford F-150 FX4 SuperCrew 4WD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I am not able to start my truck, I brought in for brakes, and was told
that I need a new starter. Never had a issue with the starter, no clicking, etc.
I am wondering if it is the solenoid, but not sure where to locate it on the truck.
Any help would be appreciated.

check the fuse box and look for three very small 20 amp fuses above the radiator. . There is two on the right side in the fuse box, facing the truck and one 20 and one above them on the left side. These 20 amp fuses are real small and the one to the left is the issue and is most likely got itself welded in there an blown. It is a flaw of the f 150 from 2009 to 2014 without any recalls and many a solenoids have been changed and fuel modules and key switches, but it is a little fuse causing the problem. Let me know if it is blown, I just found this problem on my 2013 f150 today after searching the cargurus.ca while waiting for a tow truck that cost me $131 dollars to take me 6 kl to my house so I could find the problem before taking it to the expensive professionals.
