If you turn the key on do you hear the fuel pump running? Listen at the tank if you can't hear it inside the truck. If you don't hear a faint hum the pump is probably bad. Change the fuel filter too.

Fuel pump pressure gauge about 20 bucks. Connect to fuel rail, there is a fitting. Turn key to on check pressure. Should hold pressure for a while without starting. No pressure, check for electrical problem prior to draining tank and dropping it.
