Question type: Maintenance & Repair

and a split in the brake line in front of the driver side rear wheel well. Push the pedal, it
sprays, like a slit was cut in the line, but the line is not steel.. it's a flex line that looks
more like an electrical line...even feels like it has several wires in it, and it's completely
wrapped in black tape, just like an electrical line... does this even sound right? and can I
replace this with steel line or do I have to get ...whatever this is?

It's a heavy duty rubber hose. It has to be rubber so it can move with the front end.
