I have a 1995 Dodge Dakota. I was making a 90 degree turn and my steering column locked up and couldn't move it also my gas pedal didn't work. I turned the truck off then everything was fine

Sounds like you have a bad power steering pressure switch. http://www.ehow.com/info_8748803_power-steering-pressure-switch- do.html

That sounds scary, (very scary - especially with the gas pedal sticking too). But you did the right thing to turn off the ignition. I made the mistake of not doing that and wrecked my favorite car one time (many years ago when I was only 19 years old - tough lesson to learn the hard way).
