Why can't I put more than 5 gallons of gas in my tank 1996 Dodge Caravan

Haven't tried any thing yet. Someone suggested the float is stuck or not properly working.

My guess would be that your gas tank isn't venting properly causing gas to splash back out. You probably have a vent from the tank to the EVAP canister and maybe others.
