Dodge Caravan jumps, jerks and hesitates unless I have a full tank of gas

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

The Dodge Caravan I have just started jumping, jerking and having a
hesitation problem. It happens when i drive and stopped at red lights. Its
better in neutral, after a few days the engine light came on. Then two days
later it was working fine so I didn't do anything. Then a few more days it all
starts back up but this time I notice that has long as I have over half a tank
of gas it works fine. What could it be because I was never good at keeping
a full tank of gas in it

I have a feeling your pump is not working correctly....but before you change the pump try a new gas filter... http://www.allpar.com/fix/fuelpump.html

I wonder if the pump or something related has worked loose inside the tank causing the fuel pump or pickup tube to be too high in the tank.
