Brake lights always on while driving

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Had my brake cylinder and booster replaced at Meineke. Got the car back with
the brakes working but brake lights always on while driving and EPC light on.
Replacing brake switch didn't fix it. Meineke said they couldn't fix because it
had to be a wiring problem since when they unplug and replug the lights are
off but comes back on in a short amount of time. Took it to VW Dealership,
they checked for shorts and nothing but wont go farther to fix because brake
cylinder and booster are aftermarket parts. Now I'm stuck and don't know
what to do.

Unplug the body control module and for a few seconds and then plug it back in this resets it. I had the same issue with my 06 Malibu when I changed the break master cylinder very simple fix
