What does default mode mean? I asked a question why my heat and air only blow from the defrost vents only even if I change the controls it still blows on top not out of the vents that are in the car!

Sounds like a blend door actuator. A little motot that changes the direction the air goes when you change from one to another. They are in your heater ductwork.

I have a '98 Dodge Durango that sounds like it is running out of gas. It spits and sputters and dies. Pushing in the gas pedal to rev the engine does not help. Durango eventually dies.
