2000 Dodge Durango overheating

My $2000 Durango continues to overheat. I  first took the
car in because my radiator was leaking and I had it
replaced. The car ran fine for about a week and then
started overheating again. The maintenance shop told me
the things need to be replaced because it was not
operating. I replaced the fan they also checked the head
gaskets by pressure testing and indicated they were fine.
They also added a new  thermostat gauge. They tested
the car and it is still running hot after you drive it for about
2 miles. Now they indicate a thing left is to replace the
water pump. Is this something that should've been
identified up front and does this sound reasonable?

Im thinking two things to check and it can be done by you, I would empty the entire system and use a good flush at least two times and refill with 50/50 mix of water and anti freeze, make you you burp the system of all the air, please check the over flow tube that its no collapsed, and fill the over flo Reservoir to its proper amount. If your reservoir has a pickup tube make sure its attached and not in the reservoir. I would change the radiator cap as well
