Asked by Deborah Dec 27, 2020 at 06:03 PM about the 2013 Kia Optima LX

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I have a 2013 Kia Optima just bought it in
September have had no major problems with
my car the other day I was driving and it just
stopped it wouldn’t jump so I thought it was
the starter mechanic put it on and looked to
see I didn’t have any oil the motor had seized
an now I’m reading about all the recalls but
what do I do now. Help?

Are you sure the engine is seized? An engine holds roughly 5 quarts of oil. When you are 2 quarts low or more you will not see any oil on the dipstick. Before the engine seized you should have seen a red warning light on the dash and the engine would have been knocking. So you would have known something was wrong! Before you condemn the engine, get a second opinion! Hope that helps! Jim
