Cannot get the direction to change for heating and AC controls

Asked by Phillip Mar 18, 2018 at 11:37 AM about the 2013 GMC Terrain SLE1

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Did not get the direction to change from blowing on the
face I have already checked the cabin air filter and replaced
it while also checking the other settings such as whether
the air is being drawn from inside the vehicle or outside of
the vehicle because I know that typically you cannot have
the front defroster on when it is drawing the air from inside
of the vehicle.

You did not mention if you have pushed any buttons to change the air flow. On the picture you posted, just below the emergency flasher button is four pictures of a person sitting in seats. Have you tried pushing the buttons of the people sitting on the seats on the right side? Also if the air is blowing in your face, you can turn off the vent on the dash or change the direction of the air flow by turning the knob on the air vent. If the buttons do not light up, try turning on the A/C and see if they work then. Perhaps the A/C needs to be on for them to work? Also push the blower button and turn on the system.
