How can I tell which transfer case I have in my
2001 dodge dakota

If you look on the back of the T-case there will be a round metal tag with the model no. It will be a NV233 or NV244

I was told at the junk yard that 3.7 4.7 and 5.9 for a 2001 the transfer cases are all the same and all will work in my truck is that true. I know the numbers are different on the plate can someone help
