charging system failure

Asked by Castro69 Mar 07, 2020 at 12:57 PM about the 2013 Ford Explorer XLT

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Charging system failure would turn on every morning and power steering goes
out for about 5 minutes then come back to normal. This has been going on for
a month now. Friday came around and I didn’t turn the truck on till the
afternoon. Truck stayed on for about 5 minutes then suddenly turned off. Now
it does want to start at all unless you jump start it. But as soon as you pull off
the jumper cables it turns off again.

I’m going to swap out the alternator today. I was thinking that’s what it was. Thank you.
