Check charging system

Check ingine light came on had it checked needed
plugs done that ourselves my husband unhooked
the battery cable to reset so the check ingine light
would go off and it did but now it’s saying check
charging system alternator is good and so is the
battery is there a way to get these warnings to go
away ?

The light on the dash is activated via the PCM/ECM module in the vehicle. The computer senses a fault in the charging system and activates the light. The belt could be worn, the tensioner could be loosing tension. If the belt has excessive play try changing it. They're not that expensive.

And, codes are stored in memory. Unhooking the battery does not erase the code. As soon as the computer detects the problem it will activate the light again. When the cause of the light is repaired, the light goes off by itself.
