I RECENTLY JUST PURCHASED A 2002 DODGE DURANGO AND IT KNOCKING HARD WHAT CAN IT BE?

I JUST RECENTLY PURCHASED USED A 2002 DURANGO, WHEN WE GOT IT, MOTOR SOUNDED FINE,  AFTER DRIVING IT, IT DEVELOPED A LOUD TIC/KNOCKING ON THE TOP OF THE MOTOR WHAT CAN IT BE?

it could very easily be a rocker arm that has popped off they do that on very rare occasions i have seen this on multiple versions of the magnum series engines and are easily put back into place with the right tool. The other option could be a collapsed hydraulic lifter which can also be replaced, generally if its the top end on these motors its not something serious.
