black radiator fluid

Asked by Jason Nov 26, 2019 at 11:50 AM about the 2012 Ford F-150 Platinum SuperCrew

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I have a 2012 F150, the heat has not been working great, I also noticed the smell of radiator fluid and today I see the fluid is black why?

1 Answer

The coolant is contaminated with something. Flush the system and install new coolant. Keep an eye on it to see if it turns black again.
