2012 Kia Optima Ex Key Fob

I have a 2012 kia optima ex and when I get into the car and try to start it it
say that no key is detected I need to insert the key. I insert the key into the
slot in the glove box and it starts up. When I try to lock or unlock the doors
using the key fob it want work and I have put a brand new battery in there. I
also have put a brand new battery in my car could that have did something
and un-programmed my key fob?

Have you been able to figure out what was causing this? I am having the same issue.
